Updated: Jun 28, 2023

Do you feel mighty? Do you want to?

Let me introduce you to your new superpower, Moringa! This is a phenomenal herb you have to get to know. Now this superpower is in your cup! I’m delighted to introduce you to Sterling Tea's newest blend: Berry Moringa!

When I learned about moringa a year ago, I was curious, fascinated, and jumped in with both feet to better my own health.

The Moringa oleifera is a plant that is often called the drumstick tree, the ben oil tree, the horseradish tree, or my favorite, the miracle tree. No matter the name its uses date back centuries and now this miracle herb is being studied by scientists and they have only just barely scratched the surface of the many reputed health benefits.

Scientists have already indicated that moringa offers several health benefits that make this a wonderful herb for everyone, including:

  • A natural anti-diabetic containing chlorogenic acid

  • Assists in balancing hormones

  • Fights skin anti-aging

  • It May help lower blood pressure and high cholesterol

  • Reduces inflammation in the body

  • Helps with depression

Antioxidant rich this tea is loaded chock full of antioxidants, including quercetin and chlorogenic acid, which protect our cells from damage caused by harmful free radicals. Antioxidants also help reduce inflammation, promotes heart health, and combats the signs of aging!

Fun facts: Moringa oleifera is native to the foothills of the Himalayas in northwestern India. It’s a multipurpose tree cultivated throughout the tropics and marketed as a dietary supplement, health food, or source for herbalism practices.

The fruit pods of Moringa oleifera (fondly known as "drumsticks") are consumed as food in many parts of the world, and particularly in South Asia. The leaves are commonly used to make tea. Oils are made from seeds, while powders can be made from the leaves and roots.

It’s a fast-growing species, so it’s a highly sustainable crop. Some sources even call it “a healing and sustainable superfood!”

This highly nutritious herb is an excellent source of many vitamins and minerals.

Rich in antioxidants. Did you know that moringa leaves are said to have:

  • More vitamin C than oranges

  • More vitamin A than carrots

  • More calcium than milk

  • More potassium than bananas

Based on that list alone, I feel like it could help me with avoiding colds, better eyesight, healthier bones, and fewer leg cramps. Of course, I have to say that I am not a scientist, I can only tell you what scientists are saying, and cannot guarantee that any of these health benefits will be yours. However, I have enjoyed better managing my diabetes and an increased sense of health with this wonderful herb in capsule form and have been taking it for over a year. I did a happy dance at being able to infuse this amazing herb into my cup of tea.
